Two days can change the way you run your business and the way you run your life, but only if you’re willing to get honest first. We sit down with margaritas in hand, still processing a three-hour VIP day with our business coach that left us feeling like different people. The surprising part was not a shiny new tactic, it was the inner work that cracked everything open: naming the fear, saying the quiet stuff out loud, and finally admitting what we actually want.

We talk about the full moon timing that pushed us to try a moon water ritual, how releasing a limiting belief can feel awkward and also wildly effective, and why “I don’t know what I’m doing” is a story we refuse to carry anymore. From guided subconscious work to a body-based sway test that challenged our skepticism, we unpack what it means to trust your energy, your intuition, and your own capacity as a business owner.

Then we take it to the beach for a walking meditation with our kids nearby and strangers everywhere, and we learn a simple truth: most people are not thinking about you, and even if they are, you still get to choose yourself. We connect the dots between spirituality, mindset, meditation, habit change, and entrepreneurship, and why community support is often the fastest path to clarity.

If you’re craving business clarity, a mindset reset, and practical motivation you can feel in your body, press play. Subscribe, share this with a friend who’s in a pivot, and leave us a review so more people can find Marks And Mindset Podcast.

Margaritas And A Big Reveal

Barb

Episode 143.

Lyssa

Zooming through these babies. Zooming through. I'm not ready for this one. No, not at all. I wanna I wasn't ready for this one. We uh usually never are because that is the way that Barlisa's life just be life in. Yeah. And it's uh such a roller coaster that I'm excited to take our friends on today. For sure. What is in your cup? A margarita. Which I made and I love. Um, I was muy nervous because I don't make margaritas. Um, definitely not from like scratch. I think like my extent of making margarita is buying Jose Cuervo's margarita mix and then just doing it and calling it a day. Um and we're just like big girls now. I can't be drinking that juice. I gotta drink that good juice, you know? And Adrian just has a spoiled with fresh margaritas every week. And this week she was unable to make them. So I was like, that's fine. I got this. And at first I was a little nervous, but then I found my best friend, Simple Syrup. And now I'm not so nervous. This margarita is delicious. Simple syrup, that's where it's at. Salute salute.

Barb

It's a good one. It's good. It's it's the most classic one I think that we've ever made. Yeah. And but like classic, delicious. It does. It does simple, simple, simple sugar, obviously. Um, but we need it. Yeah. And it's gonna give us liquid courage to share all of the crazy things that happened just two days ago. We are two days removed from experiencing a transformative, pivotal moment in the Bar Lisa journey. And we are here to lay it all out.

Lyssa

Because, like, we talked about it last week in our content day, right? That we just like didn't know exactly what we were going to be doing. And here's another moment, right? Like it just happened so quickly. Usually there's more time in between these moments, and this time there there really wasn't. We did this content day, it was crazy, it blew our minds, and it opened us up to understanding that like things got to change in our business. We are different, our business operates differently. It's never been more evident and in our face. And so we did what we do best, and we called on our community and we leaned in and we asked our business coach for a very special day, a VIP day, where we got three hours, three whole hours straight, a chunk of our day to spend with her and really dive into the business and dive into everything that we were feeling. And I wasn't ready for it. We were planned, we had a list, we knew what we wanted, we thought we knew what we were asking for, and she just delivered, delivered in such a way that I couldn't leave the meeting three hours later and not be a different person, which I feel like is a consensus we've talked about many times on this podcast with our relationship with her and the work that she does. I am different every time I'm with you. You blow my mind and expand my thoughts, emotions, and abilities in a way that amplifies my life, and that just needs to be talked about. That needs to be documented. And it's so weird because we had the meeting planned for what, like a week-ish? It wasn't a long time. It wasn't a long time that we kind of made that decision and asked for this day, and then and then it happened, and then the day was here, and then it was three hours, and then it was three hours together, and in those three hours, I walked in to Slate as one person, and three hours later, I walked out a different person.

Barb

So I I want to talk about it, and something that Rayanne does

The VIP Day That Changed Us

Barb

so beautifully, not something, the thing, the thing that she does so beautifully we have started to practice on our own. Um, so the idea of doing the inner work first and then moving on to the tactical business things is something that she's really big on. Yeah, right. You can't do the business stuff if there's things blocking you and limiting beliefs and like all the things that make you feel stuck and sticky and that icky feeling, which we were in. We were feeling all of those feelings. So before the meeting on Tuesday, we took Monday and this new moon energy and full full moon energy to cleanse ourselves and clear ourselves to be in preparation for this meeting. I there's no doubt in my mind, looking back on the last four days, I can now say with 100% certainty that we took Monday intentionally to work on the inner and then stepped into Tuesday while still working on inner, like still doing work that we're gonna talk about, and then moved into business a thousand percent. So this full moon, your girls made moonwater.

Lyssa

We did our what we did our first moonwater ritual, and it technically wasn't our first. After we did it, I realized that it wasn't our first. We had actually had experience doing this before, and it showed me that I had no idea what I was doing the first time.

Barb

Your girl was just out here following everybody else, having no idea what she was doing.

Lyssa

No idea. I did not get it, I did not understand it. I genuinely had no idea why I was in the room. I just knew I was in the room, like making moonwater and uh, you know, chilling in the backyard with all these women under the full moon, and we connected with people there that we still have a connection with to this day. So it was such a beautiful moment, but I in my mind I always just looked at it as like a connection circle that we had. I never, not never, but I just haven't attached it to the fact that we did that at the full moon and like the moon water aspect of it. Like I we made that water and then came home and then it like sat on the sill. I didn't know that's what I didn't know. I didn't have no idea. Um, but this time around, right, again, trusting that timing of our lives and the way that things lined up to ask for this meeting and for this meeting to be the day after the full moon and just kind of being in this period of transformation, right? Like we just knew that something was gonna be different and ingesting all of that full moon energy. And it was just like I saw this thing come through where it talked about making the moon water and setting your intentions and letting things go first before you call in, you know, what you want for for this next half of the year and all that. And I was like, oh, okay, yeah. This feels like exactly what I'm supposed to be doing, right? Because tomorrow I have to walk into this room with my business coach and I have to tell her what I want out of my business. She can't take me to a place that I don't know where I want to go. She has to know where I want to go if I want her to take me there. And so we did. We had to lean in, we had to release some of our limiting beliefs. Um, we talked about them. And while we had some personal ones that were different, I I loved that we both wrote down that we were letting go of the identity who says, I don't know what I'm doing here. I can't say that anymore. I do know what I'm doing here. I'm a badass fucking business owner. I know how to run my business. I wouldn't be here five years later if I didn't. And so, like that was for me one of the biggest things that I was shedding and letting go of. And then got to do a moon water ritual. I got my water, I wrote out my intentions, I talked to my water. I stood in front of the full moon outside in the middle of a parking lot. In your robe. In my robe, absolutely, because I wasn't gonna put clothes on for this. This is the moon. I don't even put clothes I don't put clothes on for anyone, including the moon. Uh, and I I did. I just I stood there and I stared at the moon and I thought about the life that I want to have, the life that I already have. I know it's there. I just need to make it into a reality. And then I left my moon water outside on top of my car with my list of intentions, and I let it be out there all night. And then I went to sleep, and it was a great sleep. I woke up in the morning, I went outside and I got my moon water, I read my intentions again, and then I drank my moon water, and I was like, I'm different. All of the intentions are inside of me now. I knew it. And like we laugh. I have to. That's what I'm just gonna say. Like, I have to, it's so hard. It's so hard for a recovering skeptic in the spiritual world to like lean into some of these things. But I I was actually talking to Darnell last night about it and how I am really feeling this pull to share more of this, of what we're doing, because I know that I'm not the only one that's skeptical of this shit. And I know that I'm not the only one that was raised in a way to not believe in these things and not believe in the power of yourself. And I think that's what spirituality is is teaching me that I actually hold the power, and I think that's beautiful and it's powerful. And I believe in it. And sometimes when I am talking to my water under the moonlight, and then I'm leaving it outside on top of my car, you know, like there's just so many areas where like I could build an exit ramp and hop out of this shit and be like, nope, I'm out. This makes no sense. It's silly, it's whatever. But if I stay on, right, which I I've been on the road now for a while, like what magical things happen on this road? Why would I ever want to get off of it? All I gotta do is stand outside in the robe and talk to my water, and then I get to have this amazing life. Okay, I'm here for it. Let's moonwater this shit up once a month. I'm here for it. But it was just like this what do you call it? Uh uh when it happens beforehand. Not a foreshadowing, maybe. Like, what a foreshadowing

Inner Work Before Business Strategy

Lyssa

to have this ritual to be in it. Like, I feel like this was the first one that I was like in it.

Barb

Like, I felt connected.

Lyssa

I felt connected to what I was doing, I felt connected to my intentions, I felt like what I am doing is going to make a difference in my life. And that was really cool. And it was such a moment to have right before I went and brought it into this room with our business coach and made it all very tangible.

Barb

And we have to thank those girls that didn't know what they were doing. We have to look back on the timeline and say thank you. Thank you for not knowing what you were doing. Thank you for doing it anyways. Because if I didn't do that then, how could I have fully embraced what this meant at this moment? Yeah. So we're amazing. Yeah. We have to own that. We do know what we're doing, even if it might not make entire sense at the moment.

Lyssa

Yeah.

Barb

And we're getting better at leaning and flowing and doing the thing. And it's just that we're getting better at it. Yeah. And there was so much evidence on Monday when we were doing this separately, right? Because we weren't together doing this as nighttime, the moon is out, bedtime's happening soon. And we took that time to work on the inner, to prepare ourselves as much as we could, right? Because we still had no idea what Tuesday was going to bring us, but we made a conscious, conscious effort to do the work, to do the hard thing, to write down the thing that I know that I'm gonna stop saying and it's gonna be challenging. But no, I have to because that's a lie, that's a limiting belief. Why are you being saying that out loud? That's so dumb. Yeah, you know, like so. We did that. And then we walked into the room on Tuesday, and we did it again because she walked us through a sequence of probably the most vulnerable questions I've ever been asked in my life. Where I I I could I could answer them, right? A pri a previous version of myself wouldn't have been able to answer so clearly. I was able to answer them, and I couldn't look her or you in the eye, right? It was one of those things where I have to stare at the ceiling, and I'm gonna say it out loud, but if I look at anybody, I'm gonna lose my shit. So, like I'm I'm really talking to the ceiling, but like I'm not really talking to the ceiling, you know? And we opened up and we showed the what's underneath the kimono, like here is what I want most in life, and here's what I'm scared of, and here's what's eating me. Yeah. And just to say it out loud, in the moment was the hardest thing ever. Yeah. Again, saying it to the ceiling. And now that I've said it and I'm days removed, it's no longer a weight, right? I I took the backpack off, I dropped the suitcase, I did all the literal things that you can imagine to shed. And now I'm like, okay, yeah, no, that's what I want.

Lyssa

Yeah.

Barb

That is what I want. And that's okay.

Lyssa

Because it's not hurting anybody. No. I think that sometimes we get caught up in saying what we want out loud because we have this, we hold on to this fear of rejection or this this fear that you're not going to be able to have it, or this fear of judgment, you know, like somebody being like, Oh, that's what you want out of life. You know, like we we get so scared and we end up carrying that weight when really we don't have to. We can just say that we want it and then and then it can stay there. And we can keep moving on, and we can still want that thing, but I don't have to carry that want with me all the time. I don't have to hold it inside. I can allow others and just the universe in general, right? To to hold this and not me. I think that was like the biggest connection that I made after we did that. Especially because like one of the things that I said, I remember saying something like, you know, that I thought if we change this thing, then like there's not gonna be any more clients. She was like, So if this happens, then you don't make any money ever. Your business is just done. And I was like, Well, when you say it like that, it sounds really silly. And then it's like, oh, okay. Well, when I say it in my head, right, it makes complete sense. My brain, my fear can make that make sense and it can live in my body. But because I made that decision to say it out loud, to say it to someone else, I was able to hear it back and then get another perspective on that thought. And

Moon Water And New Identity

Lyssa

then that perspective allowed me to shift and be like, okay, yeah, I guess that does sound kind of silly, right? Like that it wouldn't actually happen in reality. But in your brain, anything can happen. So it's like sometimes you have to say the thing out loud. You just gotta bring it into reality because sometimes it could be absolutely insane or it can be right on the money. But you don't know if you don't say it, if you don't put it out there, if you don't, it's almost like admitting it to yourself when you say it out loud.

Barb

And then it becomes real.

Lyssa

And then it becomes real. We love to keep fake imaginary thoughts in our brains and pretend that they're real, but they're not. Then when you say it out loud, then it becomes real and you get to make a decision whether you want to keep that or not. And I think that was like starting off that way. That was the first 10 fucking minutes. I was like, we have two hours and 50 minutes left. Oh man, what is supposed to happen here? I'm already half broken. Yeah, it was crazy. It was crazy.

Barb

It was, I could look back now, days removed, and say it she started exactly where you need to start in order to move to a place of clarity, move to a place of discernment on what is next. So, like she's really good at her job. She's like so good at this. Um, we we walked through some spiritual things and that was nuts. Did some uh like some guided subconscious things and I do. She left me with wanting to know more, wanting to understand more and implement more of these things because these are tangible things that we can use in our business. I can use you, your body, to see whether or not something is right for us. Yeah. And that's fucking cool. Who knew? I thought you were here for so many reasons. I never realized that that was one of them, that I can use you as my own pendulum for like yes and no's.

Lyssa

For real, though. That shit blew my mind. So the first time that we did breath work, and we could go back and listen to that podcast episode, that was back in October of 2025 when we did our breath work and we kind of had that spiritual awakening, right? Like that was the first time that something other than me, like that I know that I was doing something, like something happened in my brain. Clicked. It it was, you know, and I was like, okay, I have no explanation for this, but it's real. It happened. And, you know, and then from there, since then, right, we've been dabbling, we've been leaning into the spirituality things, and it's not easy to stay consistent on those things, especially for someone who is skeptical, right? Like I have to constantly remind myself that this is real and that it does help, and all of those things. And so it's easy to get away from, to get away from us. But again, we leaned in, we did our moon water, right? Like I was like, I want to connect, I want to be here in this space. And even through doing some of the guided stuff, when we first started, it was kind of funny. She like initially told us to put, you know, close our eyes and we we kind of shut down. And we had Disney instrumental music playing in the background. That was just and I was like, I don't think that I can do a guided anything when the Disney is going on in the background. Like, I was like, I can sing the song right now, and I kind of want to, and I can't, because I'm supposed to be like tapping into my subconscious, and I can't. So that was like one takeaway for me was like, okay, we do not do spiritual things to Disney music because we like this because I like it too much. I need it to be something that I cannot connect with. And we did.

Barb

Yes, eventually we were able, because I I thought this, I was like, wait a minute, I know the song. And there are no lyrics playing, so this is my time to shine.

Lyssa

Exactly. It felt like a karaoke moment. And I'm like, and I know Rain loves singing, so like this is gonna be great. I know she knows the song too.

Barb

She has three kids. Oh, that's so funny. But eventually I did. I I was able to kind of like tune it out. I didn't be in the moment. And again, that just shows how far we have come on this journey where I didn't meditate. We didn't met who took um, I gotta go sit in a room by myself for how many minutes and think of I do you know how many things I gotta do? I gotta this, this, and this, and I don't have time for that. And every excuse under the sun, under the sun to avoid stopping and staying still. Still and tapping, and it has taken work. It has taken so much work. I have to look back and I have to thank the person that's done all this work to get us here. And that's us. Exactly. We've stopped and we've done all the work to get us here to now where we can eventually black out some Disney music that we really wanted to like Pokemon and tap in to do the work.

Lyssa

To to be present. And that was so evident. And it did. We ended up at one point. We stood up and we did the the sway test. Um, and even in the moment, I was fighting my brain, being like, it's okay, like it, it's okay. You can do this, like nothing's gonna happen to you. And like you're probably not gonna sway, and that's okay. You know, like all these things. And it was just the realest thing ever. I literally stood there and there was there was nothing. I couldn't see anything, and everything was happening. That has blown my mind. Two days later, still. Mind blown. Two days later, I'm still decompressing and trying to, I don't want to say trying to figure out because I'm not trying to figure out. I think I'm just like figuring out how to be okay without the answer, right? Because

Saying The Scary Thing Out Loud

Lyssa

there is no answer, right? And maybe the answer is just that it it truly is energy and like understanding what energy is. Like I again, like processing it, I'm like, I don't know. When I was little, I knew RGE, right? I knew I knew energy was something that I had to pay for. I knew that it turned powered my toaster, it turned on my lights. I was able to have heat and air conditioning thanks to energy. I didn't comprehend that I was energy. And then in science class, and they tell you you're made up of matter and you're this. And cool. What does that mean? What does any of that mean? And like diving into this and understanding what energy truly is and how much of it exists that you can't see. It's this matter of like, I don't get to be the decider that something is not real. I don't get to choose that because what happened there with just a simple sway test, somebody could say was not real because they couldn't see anything. They just saw me moving, and they're like, Well, you moved yourself. But like, I know that I didn't move myself. That shit is crazy.

Barb

What I love is that you've shared already on this podcast, but in the past, that you didn't grow up in this spiritual world and all of that stuff, and I did in not this way, in a very different way. And we both did the test, right? We both did the things. I have an easier time of leaning in and grasping what's happening, and I don't have that visceral reaction, yeah. Right. My my sway, she saw, but it was very, very subtle. And I felt that. Like I I feel the groundedness in who I am that I'm an anchor. I'm here. Yeah. And you're not. I can flow. And you, it was the two questions that she asked you. I don't even remember. Oh, she your name. It was the biggest one, yeah, was like the name one. Yeah. Steve. Right. And that you almost fell on your ass. Yeah. Like it pulled you back. Yeah. To be like, no, that's not your name. And then your name is Elisa. And then you almost fell and bit it. Yeah. The face. I did a full Michael Jackson. I really did. Such a visceral reaction, such a visceral moment. You had to catch yourself both times on either the back and the front. And this is hard for you to take in. Yeah. Right. This is hard for you to ingest, but you have such visceral reactions that you can't ignore. I can no longer say or ignore that that's not real or this right. That challenge, yeah. Your entry point has become a ramp now. No, and this is real. So I am going to flow this ramp because I can't ignore it anymore. Yeah. And that's really cool. That's really cool to see how far you've come, dude. Thanks.

Lyssa

It's really not easy. Um, because it it isn't, right? To I've said it before, like I I always considered myself to be like an agnostic, someone who just did not believe in anything religious or spiritual, like that, just it wasn't real. And this stuff is so real. And it's it's almost gotten to the point where even if it's not, look at what me believing in it has done for me. So maybe it's not real, but it's making real change in my life. It's making me change, it's making me happy, it's making me know that anything is possible in this world and opening my vessel to be able to handle that. And I don't think that's a bad thing.

Barb

No, and I like to challenge that what's real to one person might not be real to the next person sitting next to you. And that's okay.

Lyssa

Yeah.

Barb

Because if it is real to you and if it is making positive impact, yeah, it doesn't have to be real. If you don't, that's cool. You don't have to get it, right? Where we share what we're going through because there might be other people that are like, is this? Is it is it not? Like somebody that's not crazy, tell me what's going on.

Lyssa

And that's what I feel like I needed, right? Like I genuinely feel like if I if I didn't have you, right? Someone who did have experience with this, someone who dabbled a little a little in this spirituality to tell me that I'm safe, to be like, no, it's okay, like you're fine, you're not gonna die, girl. Chill the fuck out. And I I need that. And I feel like I want to be that, right? Now that I received that and I can see the gift that that is to be connected to my own spirituality. Like, I want everyone who wants to be connected to connect. And if you need help doing that, like I want to be able to let you know

The Sway Test And Energy

Lyssa

that it is safe. And I think that's a perfect segue into like what else we did that day with Rand because right, we did this whole thing. That's again, this was the first 10 minutes of our fucking thing. So for the last two hours and 50 minutes, mind was blown. Like, just what an amplification of our business was able to happen because we were all aligned, because we were open, we were receiving, and there are so many tactical, beautiful things that we are now going to be able to implement into our business to bring us towards the life that we told her we wanted in the first 10 minutes. Because we took 10 minutes in the beginning. We now are able to implement the two hours worth of things that we talked about. And what's 10 minutes? You know what I mean? To connect with yourself. I think that's the other part of it too, is that people get stuck in this, like, you got to do this all the time, right? Like, that's not how this works. You don't, you don't gotta go every Sunday for two hours, you know, and sit and do these things in order to feel connected. You can do so many other things. And I I just love that we we did that and we honed into that and we left different, just like we thought we were going to. And then we went to the beach. And we did it again. I don't think we've ever done it like twice in one day, you know, where like I've tapped in so much, which was also something that was just different for me. And that is like that that segue into who cares what other people think or what they feel, or if it's real to them, because that could have been the game changer for the meditation that we did at the beach, because there were moments, right? We went to um Duran, which was insanely busy. Because it's hot in Rochester, because it's so hot, and there's only so many places you can go to when it's so hot. So, although it was a Tuesday night and we did not think it was gonna be crazy, it was packed. And there was that moment of like, we're gonna do this here, like right here in front of all these people, we're gonna stand and close our eyes and hold our hearts and meditate around for the world to see hundreds of strangers, you know, and there was there was that that voice, that little thing in the back of your head that's like, people are gonna think you're weird. People are gonna walk past you and be like, what the fuck is this person doing? Right. And your eyes are closed and you know, the the airpods are in, but like you could still hear that people are walking, you can still feel you know, the energy, the energy of people walking by you. And in the beginning, I could say like the first couple of people was definitely like, oh my God, what does that person think we're doing right now? What does that person think we're doing right now? You know, this person just walked past me and they're probably like this fucking weirdo with her, you know. And then at one point, I opened my eyes and I saw a couple people walking by and didn't pay two fucking minds of us. No one was looking at us, right? Like we think the things that go on in our brain, we think that people care about us, we think people are looking at us, we think people are judging us. People don't do it as much as we believe that they do it. And it was just this moment of like, no, who cares? And if they are, who cares? I'm here for me because my life is gonna be different because I want my reality to be different. And if that means that I got to stand in front of the lake and close my eyes and hold my heart for 10 minutes and then walk around and do these things, I'm gonna do that. And you know, like walking back and forth and all this. And I loved that our kids were there watching us do this, you know. And even then, right, we got done and they were like, So why did you walk back and forth like three times? Like what, you know, like there's these questions, but how important to show them what it takes to take care of yourself. It doesn't always mean that we have to go get facials and pedicures and you know, all of these things that we deem as self-care all the time. Sometimes self-care is going down to the beach, putting in some airpods, walking back and forth, staring into the lake, thinking of your future, putting your energy there, playing with your kids, eating Chick-fil-A.

Barb

What a great night.

Lyssa

And then going home. You know, like it's it doesn't have to be that complicated. I think that's was like a big takeaway that I took from that. Life doesn't have to be that hard.

Barb

And dare I say it wasn't hard at all because we didn't plan this. These two days, right? I didn't plan the full moon. No, I sure didn't. I didn't plan to have this meeting with Ray Ann after the full moon. Yeah. Because I knew, okay, well, we're gonna do this and then we're gonna, I didn't know that. We didn't strategically line that up. No, we didn't know that meditation was gonna fall, right? Meditation was on our calendar first. So we knew we were going in meditation. We

Beach Meditation Without Caring

added our VIP day. Why? Because the calendar was open. That's all it was, yeah. And we have to trust the timing of everything because if everything is being timed out and laid out as breadcrumbs, and all I have to do is just continue to pick up the breadcrumb and one foot in front of the other to get to the next one. I can't ignore that. Yeah, I can't ignore all of the signs that are being thrown my way and wallow in the woe is me or this is never for me. Well, look at all the signs. Did you do anything? Yeah. Did you get up? Did you move? Did you pick up the breadcrumb? Right, right. And we did that and we're doing that. And meditation was the cherry on top of the last, like two coming off those two things. Yeah, right. This meeting with her, we were energized, we were jazzed, we were tired, we were like, oh my god, right, all the feelings. And then to end it by going to the beach with the kids, setting them up so that they can live their best life at the beach because it was hot. So hot. They were having the time of their lives. And now I'm gonna go do this walking meditation so that all of the work that I've been doing the last two days, I'm literally putting into action. I am walking my two feet towards the life that I have said the last two days that I want, and I'm leaving behind all this other shit that I no longer need. That meditation will go down for me. It will. In history. Because right, the first meditation we did with them, every every meditation that we do with them, but this specific one was a Dr. Joe meditation we've been doing with Dom, who hosts monthly meditation classes. Um, and I have to say that this one was the first one where I was like, oh no, I'm I'm taking it off. Yeah. And I'm walking different because I feel different and I know I'm different and I have different knowledge and I know what I want for the first time in my life. I can verbalize what I actually want. Not just the I want a better life, I want more money, I want just the generic thing of wanting. Yeah. And I'm gonna move forward to that.

Lyssa

I must move forward to that. It was a non-negotiable, right? When it's a walking meditation, I think it's definitely one that's gonna be pinned. Um, I can see us coming back to this one multiple times, right? The other ones that we've done, not that I wouldn't do them again because a few of them definitely have been like, okay, I've connected to this one and you know, I can go back. But this act of walking, I don't know if it's just because the I've never done a walking meditation. I've only ever done one where I'm sitting or laying down. So I've never been in motion and like meditated before. And that was just like eye-opening. Like you said, there was there was this ownership that you got to take. There was this, I can shed this. I can literally physically take my two feet and put one in front of the other and walk as a different person, if that is what I so choose to today. And lining it all up, the way that it lined up, to be able to just be in this whole space of knowing what I want with my future for the first time in a very long time, knowing exactly where I want it to go, having that clarity. And now here's this meditation that is in my ear telling me to walk into my new life. What? And this is where like it comes back to like that. To me, what I am noticing is that spirituality is just showing the the power that I have within myself. That's what this is showing me. And like I can walk, physically walk into a better life. It's not that hard. I walk all the time, you know. I think we just we overthink things and we think that it has to be complicated, and we think that we have to have all of the ducks in a row,

Walking Into The Life We Want

Lyssa

and that's just not the case anymore. I don't, I don't want to live like that anymore. I want to shed that belief that I have to have it all ready and perfect and prepared. Like, no, I'm actually just gonna keep walking. Because if I just keep walking, I keep moving forward, then I'm gonna keep getting the things I want because I'm not stopping. And I did. I walked through that meditation differently. I genuinely felt taller, I felt happier. I was walking and telling myself that when I have the life that I want to have, it's actually gonna look just like this. I have it already. And then I was able to say, Oh, then that means that you have it already. Because you're walking in in a manner that you're like, no, this is what I'm doing now. This is what I want my future to look like. I want to walk by the beach and do a meditation while my kids play in the water and the sand. And yeah, that sounds like a great life. I'll take that one. One, please. Two, actually, that'd be nice.

Barb

And I am so grateful for the community that we have built. Yeah, because everything that we have learned, yes, there's a lot of self-learning. We read lots of books, and we continue to read books, and we continue to seek information because I think that's just who we are, yeah, and that's how you know we operate. And the community also gives and fills and pours into us in a way that we need. We we need that. That meeting, that VIP day with Ryan is you explained it as a tune-up. It was emotionally and business focused. It was a tune-up for ourselves, our lives, what we want. Right. Dom, this meditation helped move us even closer to that. So I'm just I'm just so grateful to the community of people that we have and what they're doing because all they're doing is what they love. Yep. And the ripple that has come from that has it, I'm I'm a direct impact. Yes. Like I am a ripple in their pond because I am here, not because of them, but because of them. You've helped me shed and you've helped me walk, and you've helped me let go, and you've helped me hear all of the dumb things that I think in my head. I'm like, yeah, okay. Well, you say it all like, all right, I hear you. I'm not gonna say that again. Okay, I got it. That was silly. Because sometimes you do get in your own way, and by sometimes I mean like all the time. All the time. So you need community, you need the people that can see you at a 30,000-foot view because you're stuck on the ground. Yeah, and all you can see is what is in front of you. And that sometimes is not the best view, right?

Lyssa

It's it's not the only view. And I think that's where we get stuck. We get so stuck in the fact that we'll like, no, but this is how I see it, and this is what I see. And it's like, yeah, but if you saw what I saw, would you choose differently? And I think that's that's exactly what both of them give us. We kind of come into these these moments and these periods in our life, and we're just like, I don't know, this is what I want. And then they're like, Okay, do you

Community Support And Habit Shifts

Lyssa

want it now after you've seen this, after you've seen that, after I've said this and I've done that? Now do you still want it? And you know, or is it different? And that's that's what Rayanne did for us. She was able to listen to what we wanted, provide those other perspectives, and help align us to the path that we're always meant to be on. Sometimes you just need someone to hold your hand. Yeah. And like, I'm I'm so grateful. I know, like it's it's funny. Like, Dom is always like, Thank you so much for hoping helping me host these. Like when we do them at Slate, or we kind of just do them out. And I every time he says thank you, it I want to receive it. But in a way, I'm like, no, thank you. No, you thank you for doing this. You're the one doing it, you know what I mean? Like, I get why you're thanking me, but like you're the trooper, you know, you're the one that brought this to me. You're the one that implemented this, and the fact that you continue to show up allows me to continue to show up. And like together, because we both show up, right? Like things are great things are happening. And I know, I love it. I love our community. I think that we're we're doing it right.

Barb

Yeah. So, all of that, I guess to wrap it up to say that two days ago for two days straight, our mind was blown. Absolutely. Absolutely. Two days later, we're still recovering from mind being blown. And there is so much clarity. There is so much excitement.

Lyssa

I was just gonna say that there's it's fun, I think it's fun. Like when we have these moments, and then it's like, oh, I get to live a new life now. Yeah, I get to be different. I get to actually wake up and do something else because like that's actually what I really want to do when I wake up now. Allowing yourself that freedom to be different and to do things differently. Maybe every day for 36 years, I would walk downstairs and grab a cup of coffee and sit on the couch and do the things, but I think my life looks different now. So maybe now I don't do that. Maybe now I wake up and I go outside on my porch and I grab my yoga mat and I do a little movement work and then I journal and then I do something else. You know, like don't be afraid to change your routines. Don't be afraid to be different. Don't be afraid to say, I don't want to do that anymore. I want to do something else now.

Barb

And to piggyback off of that, I've been reading another book called Atomic Habits. Love it. Can't wait to read it. It says all of that, right? How do you break a habit? How does habit, how do habits form the underlying all of these things where your habits actually stem from your childhood and what you saw and what you didn't see and what you think is weird because you didn't see it, or yeah, you know, so much of it is subconscious. Yes. And you don't even know that part because you're not aware. And I'm happy that

we're aware, and I'm happy that we have built a crew of aware people because I love every single one of them.
